Here is a nice photo album documenting the military service of a soldier around 1949.
I counted a total of 266 photos.
The album can be categorized as follows:

st
half of the album is a combination of military training and sightseeing in California.
Appears he was in long beach.
There are also photos that appear to be Yosemite or a National Park visited.
Also pictures of Wawona tree.
One photo probably of their trip to the park shows a sign for the Hotel Fresno.
Also a few photo folders from Long Beach bars/restaraunts.
In this section there is about 76 photos.

nd
half of the album is his time in Japan.
Starts out with showing outside and inside pictures of the Noboribetsu
Grand Hotel including a luggage label showing the same angle as in one of the photos.
One photo shows Camp Chitose which is a base in Japan where he may have been stationed.
Some pictures show military maneuvers in the snow.
Towards the end of this section are a few pages where it appears he is back in California at a military base.
Some funny photos of men holding M1919 browning machine guns. 193 in this section including some loose photos found next to the back cover.
Album binding and pages are intact.
Photos are held in with corner mounts.
Probably less than 10 photos missing but they may be some that are also loose in the album found at the back of the album.
A nice complete chronology of military service around the time of the Korean War.
