What will I receive?
You will receive detailed construction drawings in the form of a PDF file... a
digital
computer file that you can
print directly from
. A PDF file containing the drawings will be loaded onto a flash drive (
USB storage device
) and sent to your mailing address via the US Postal Service. Simply hand the flash drive over the counter to a local printer and they will do the rest.
You may also insert the drive into your computer via USB and from there, view the file and/or upload it to an online printing service. If you are able to print at a large scale, you may also print the drawings yourself. The drawings are
formatted for printing on Arch D sheets, or 24”x 36”
.
Why not email the file instead of shipping it on a flash drive?
eBay policy
has become increasingly restrictive regarding the exchange of any personal contact info that facilitates communication outside of the eBay system, making the email approach unworkable. Most sellers who promise delivery via email will inform you of recent changes to eBay policy and that a download link will be provided instead.
Downloads of this sort can be
messy
and the process requires the buyer to perform a series of computer tasks that can sometimes be interrupted by failed permissions, file location errors, etc.  Typically, in order to deliver the file to a local printer
the PDF file will need to be placed onto a flash drive or CD anyway,
so why not buy the file preloaded on a flash drive and skip these other headaches? Just toss this in a drawer until you’re ready to begin your project.

The drive is yours to keep as a bonus. Use it however you desire.
Are the included drawings sufficient to pull a building permit?
These plans are created to accord with the IRC residential code generically. Your local soil conditions and possible vulnerability to certain regional hazards may necessitate some alterations / additions to the included drawings. Your local building dept. may require the stamp of a state licensed engineer or architect. If so, you will need to submit the drawings to be reviewed by one of these local professionals in order to receive this seal or stamp. If any amendments are necessary in order to meet local codes, they can quickly and easily provide you with them.
