What does Genuine parts mean to USCamera?
Genuine parts are factory replacement parts manufactured under direct control by the manufacturer of equipment being sold in the US and International markets. As an example, the replacement parts we sell as "Genuine Canon Parts". These are parts are manufactured by Canon Japan and distributed by Canon Japan to authorized distributors and warehouses located in various parts of planet earth. "OEM" Canon / Canon Original Equipment Manufacturer and other ways of saying that, do not mean Genuine Canon Parts. Currently we see parts manufactured by Canon in China, Malaysia, Thailand and Japan. Those parts will only be shipped directly from Canon in Japan, never directly from the manufacturer. Some OEM parts are stamped "made in Japan" and that stamp is faint or barely readable. Canon would never sell parts like that. The impression "made in Japan" would be crisp and clean. If you compare a genuine Canon part next to a OEM part, it is obvious which is genuine. Sometimes you purchase a genuine part that is actually made from the same mold that molded the original part or your equipment. We also see expensive parts selling for 1/10th the cost of Genuine, online selling as new. We have purchased some of these parts from several online vendors and received what we call "pulls". These are used parts (pulled) removed from whole damaged equipment. So it appears that many web businesses are not being so truthful about the words used when describing the parts they sell. At USCamera, you can rest assured that if we advertise Genuine parts, they are genuine.
