Description
Please read this listing carefully before making a purchase from it: this listing is for one (1) plain piece of synthetic satin cord, about 2mm in diameter and 1 meter in length. The available colors are shown in the first picture: dark green, black, wine-red, and navy blue (tell me which color you want). If you've already bought one of my magatama as a separate purchase and want to wear it as a necklace, this is probably the easiest way to do it: string the cord straight through the borehole, slide the magatama down to the middle of the cord, and maybe tie a simple knot to keep it in place. I'd also suggest tying another small knot near each end of the cord to keep the magatama from sliding back off and to offset the fraying factor (the cord ends will eventually start to fray apart, which can actually look rather pretty as a controlled tassel).
If you buy the magatama at the same time as the cord, I'll go ahead and string it on for you. I also have a more complicated, more secure knotting style for the same type of cord in a separate listing.
Most of my magatama will fit directly onto these cords, except for the small agate/carnelian/chalcedony/etc. stone magatama whose boreholes are too small and will require a small metal ring. (Yes, I have some small silver rings for that in a separate listing.) I've tried to show sample pictures of how every magatama size looks, and would also like to add a word of caution-- I strongly advise you NOT to use the "lark's head" hitch that's shown with the red cord on the black art-glass magatama. It's a simple, easy knot and it does look nice, but if the cord slackens, the loop can easily widen out enough to fall down around the "shoulders" of the magatama, which will then escape, possibly into a suicide plunge toward the floor.
Please check my other listings for more pretties, and thanks for looking! ^_^
