    Description

Many Featherweights have come to us without their original instruction booklets and we have had to buy reprints for them. The reprints are nice and clean while the originals are often tattered and grungy, but I still prefer the genuine article when I can get it.
If you feel the same way, this booklet was printed in 1955. (Although some of the parts changed slightly in appearance over the years, the information and instructions and diagrams in this booklet apply to all 221s, not just those manufactured in 1955.) It is a bit tattered and wrinkled and loose but all of its 56 pages are present and legible. We have included several photographs so you can see what you’re getting.
The instructions and diagrams that show you how to use and care for your Featherweight are wonderful, but in my opinion the best thing about original Singer instruction booklets is the section at the end (photo seven) that shows you how to use your machine’s attachments. This is good stuff!
Original sewing machine instruction booklets like this one are getting hard to find. You can certainly find a reprint for just a few dollars and downloads are free, but it’s just nice to own the real thing.
My husband and I have owned over 1000 antique and vintage Singer sewing machines (over 200 Featherweights) and know quite a bit about them, so please ask if you have any questions. We are happy to help you!
